Southern Cross Bourbon, is proud of its partnership with Major James Capers Jr., as the brand’s first ambassador. Major Capers is a legendary Marine who served in the elite Force Recon unit and participated in some of the most dangerous and clandestine missions in Vietnam. He is a man of courage, honor, and integrity, who embodies the spirit of Southern Cross Bourbon.
Major Capers was born in South Carolina in 1937 and faced racial discrimination and poverty in his childhood. He moved to Baltimore where he met his wife Dottie and joined the Marines. He broke training records, led Team Broadminded, and was nominated for the Medal of Honor. He received numerous awards and commendations for his heroism and self-sacrifice. He is a role model and inspiration for many people who face challenges and obstacles in life.
